We turned what might have been a lazy Sunday into a very industrious one, getting The Aerie all decked out for Christmastime. We had the Christmas music playing from the office while we decked the halls and trimmed the trees (our big Christmas tree and our little Monterey pine out back). Speaking of trees, we even added some Christmas cheer to the palm trees outside of our home.
I am pretty sure that Timbaland co-produced this song with Shakira, and Lil Wayne provides some vocals on it. I think Timbaland's voice is the deep voice you hear.
I think this video is really good, but it would be even better if it had more of Shakira dancing with the other women. Shakira always has really different choreography in her videos.

This week's warm weather and clear-sky Santa Ana was ushered out today in a big way with rain showers (and even hail!) and a cold wind from the north.
The change in weather was a good demarcation point to change from Thanksgiving into Christmas, which we're getting an early start on this year. Of course, the first course of action is to get the tree.
Now Penny has never had a tree in the house, and I'm not sure she entirely knows what to think about it. Wait until we put the lights and decorations on tomorrow!
Shakira's new album, She Wolf, is really, really good. I think it is one of the more entertaining albums I have downloaded (and actually paid for!) in a while.
Here are 2 of my favorite songs from the album.
English versions ...
Shakira - Did It Again (Featuring Kid Cudi)
Shakira - Why Wait
Shakira - Lo Hecho Está Hecho
Shakira - Años Luz
Shakira - Long Time (there is only an English version of this song, but I think it is my favorite song on the album)
You can download the mp3 album at Amazon.com.
Lady Gaga has a new song called "Alejandro" from her new EP, The Fame Monster. You can download the whole thing from Amazon MP3 for just $5.
"Alejandro" sounds like an homage to ABBA's "Fernando" and Ace of Base's "Don't Turn Around".

You can find the whole recipe here. Start by placing 4 ramekins on a baking sheet and set aside. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. To make the Crisp Topping stir together the flour, sugar, chopped nuts and crushed gingersnaps (crush the cookies quickly in a food processor) in a bowl until combined. Work the butter into the dry ingredients until it becomes crumbly and kind of sandy. Set the Crisp Topping aside. In a medium mixing bowl, stir together the frozen berries, sugar, cornstarch, 1/2 cup of the crisp topping and 2 or 3 tablespoon of orange liqueur (if using). Divide the mixture evenly between the four ramekins. Top each of the ramekins with approximately 1/2 cup of the remaining crisp (You will probably had some topping left over. Just store in a ziplock baggie in the freezer to use later). Place the ramekins on the sheet pan and bake in the oven for 30-35 minutes until browned and bubbling. Allow to cool for 15 minutes before serving. Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a real treat!

After a couple of days of feeling out of sorts, it seems that Penny’s puppy pharmaceutical treatment has helped out immensely and that there was a very energetic and eager pointer ready for a big mountain hike this morning.
We took a great long hike down and then up to the top of the mountain The Aerie rests on. There were great views out to the ocean and even down to Point Loma.
Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!
So, my sister is coming from Maryland to visit for Thanksgiving. We did a lot of prep work this weekend to prepare, but I'm always looking for omens as to how the week might go.
Well -- both Penny and my car are sick. Penny had to take a de-wormer (ick) and my car needs new brake-pads (ka-ching).
At least Penny gets to sleep and I get to drive around in a 1-series loaner. Now how'd they know I was eyeing up one of those....
Hope everyone has a great week!
