Disasters at work
Really just a near disaster today.
When I was shown my office on my first day of work I was given my choice of desks. Really I was just given a color choice, light or medium wood color, all the desks were the same.
Except one. It was bigger, had a return, room to add on leaves when need, plus it was the same one my boss had and why should I get a smaller desk then her?
I was told that the legs on it were bad and nobody could figure out how to make them hold the desk up. This was of no concern to me and I quickly flipped the desk on its' side, adjusted the legs then flipped it back over. To everyone's surprise it held. (Whoever built it was apparently unable to read the IKEA instructions.)
For six months now the desk has held; that is until I decided to staple 130 pages together on it.
I had to use one of those really big staplers and as I pressed down on the lever I felt the entire desk suddenly tilt.
It's amazing that nothing fell off, especially my monitors.
