It's called Nerdcore...
I fell in love with hip-hop when I was still in the single digits, like 7 or 8.
I think I've always been a nerd in some way or another.
One day I was browsing the webs and I came across an album that changed my music listening habits forever. Someone had the brilliant idea of putting putting rap and nerdiness together! I couldn't believe it. It was like heaven.
It's by a guy named YTCracker; the album is called Nerdrap Entertainment System (NES). The beats are from all your favorite old school video games and the lyrics are on point.
It's the Illmatic of nercore. Seriously, it's that good.

A little on further down the line I came across MC Plus+ (that's plus plus). At first I wasn't really feeling his album. It was too hardcore, too gangster (that's right) but subsequent listening uncovered the brilliance of his work.

I first heard Beefy on the Nerdcore compilation Rhymes & Torrents and fell in love pretty much right away. I've been listening to his latest Tube Technology for the past couple weeks and it's great; I especially love Chun-Li.

I came across MC Router & 1337 G33k B3at the same way I did Beefy. There is or was (I'm blocked from YouTube at work so I can't check to be sure they are still there) a series of videos she posted in response to a Wired article about Nerdcore, that are just awesome.

So...while I was looking up the sites for these fine artists I found out that Beefy and MC Router on are Vox!! Two of my Nerdcore heroes on Vox!! Awesome!

So it dawned on me just now (some 24 hours after the original posting) that I forgot someone very important in this post.
MC Frontalot.
Front is like the Godfather of Nerdcore. He coined the term. How I forgot him I don't know...anyhow here we go..
